On September 12, 2024, the Itogon Council passed Resolution No. 298, Series of 2024, entitled, “𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙐𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝘼𝘿𝙊𝙋𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙀 𝙍𝙀𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏 𝙊𝙁 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙀 𝙊𝙉 𝙇𝘼𝙒𝙎 𝙍𝙀𝙂𝘼𝙍𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙀 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃 𝙋𝙈𝘼𝙅 𝙈𝘼𝘾 𝙆𝙀𝙉𝙇𝙀𝙔 𝘼. 𝙈𝘼𝙔𝙊𝙈𝙄𝙎 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘿𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙀𝘿 𝙊𝙉 𝘼𝙐𝙂𝙐𝙎𝙏 28, 2024, 𝙊𝙉 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙋𝙊𝙎𝙀𝘿 𝙇𝘼𝘾𝘼𝙋 01-2024 𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙏𝙇𝙀𝘿: “𝘼𝙈𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙀𝙓𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙈𝙐𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙄𝙋𝘼𝙇 𝙊𝙍𝘿𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙀 𝙉𝙊. 29-2020 𝙊𝙁 𝙈𝙐𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙄𝙋𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙔 𝙊𝙁 𝙄𝙏𝙊𝙂𝙊𝙉, 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙑𝙄𝙉𝘾𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝘽𝙀𝙉𝙂𝙐𝙀𝙏” 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝘼𝘿𝙊𝙋𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙋𝙊𝙎𝙀𝘿 𝘼𝙈𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙎 𝙊𝙁 𝙈𝙐𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙄𝙋𝘼𝙇 𝙊𝙍𝘿𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙀𝙎”.

The proposed resolution aims to enhance public safety by establishing core principles and frameworks that protect community welfare, health, and safety while ensuring the preservation of lives and property. These could be achieved by implementing strict curfews on establishments that serve alcoholic beverages beyond the designated time.

Hence, the Committee on Laws, Public Safety, and Peace & Order is fully committed to supporting and advocating for policies that serve the interest of public safety. Additionally, it is stated that every suggestion made will be included in the Committee Report and be taken into account when ensuring safety within the Municipality of Itogon.

The existing municipal Ordinance mentioned is Ordinance No. 29-2020 of the Municipality of Itogon titled, “An ordinance regulating the selling or dispensing and consumption or drinking of Liquor in Public Places within the Municipality of Itogon, Province of Benguet”.
