On September 12, 2024, the Itogon Council passed Resolution No. 298, Series of 2024, entitled, βππππππππππ πΌππππππππ πΌππΏ πΌπΏππππππ πππ πΎππππππππ ππππππ ππ πππ πΎππππππππ ππ ππΌππ ππππΌππΏπππ πππ πΎππππππππ πππΌππππ ππππ πππΌπ ππΌπΎ ππππππ πΌ. ππΌπππππ πΎπππΏππΎπππΏ ππ πΌπππππ 28, 2024, ππ πππ ππππππππΏ ππΌπΎπΌπ 01-2024 ππππππππΏ: βπΌππππΏπππ πππ ππππππππ πππππΎπππΌπ πππΏπππΌππΎπ ππ. 29-2020 ππ πππππΎπππΌππππ ππ ππππππ, πππππππΎπ ππ π½ππππππβ πππ πΌπΏππππππ πΌππΏ ππππππππΏ πΌππππΏπππππ ππ πππππΎπππΌπ πππΏπππΌππΎππβ.
The proposed resolution aims to enhance public safety by establishing core principles and frameworks that protect community welfare, health, and safety while ensuring the preservation of lives and property. These could be achieved by implementing strict curfews on establishments that serve alcoholic beverages beyond the designated time.
Hence, the Committee on Laws, Public Safety, and Peace & Order is fully committed to supporting and advocating for policies that serve the interest of public safety. Additionally, it is stated that every suggestion made will be included in the Committee Report and be taken into account when ensuring safety within the Municipality of Itogon.
The existing municipal Ordinance mentioned is Ordinance No. 29-2020 of the Municipality of Itogon titled, βAn ordinance regulating the selling or dispensing and consumption or drinking of Liquor in Public Places within the Municipality of Itogon, Province of Benguetβ.
