July 16, 1991 – Pursuant to the implementation of the project called “Community Awareness on Resources and Environment” (CARE), the Sangguniang Bayan under Hon. Mayor Alfonso L. Fianza adopted a Resolution numbered 95, series of 1991 naming the Official Flower, Bird and Tree of the Municipality of Itogon as Sunflower (locally known as “Mirason” or “Marapa-it”), Talal, and Tibig (also known locally as “Tebel”, scientific name: Ficus Nota), respectively.

June 27, 2005 —the “Land of Golden Opportunities” was officially adopted as the municipality’s brand name under the 5th Sangguniang Bayan‘s Resolution No. 123, Series of 2005. This followed a request from the provincial government of Benguet, which was preparing an investment brochure featuring thirteen (13) municipalities in the province. The adoption was coordinated with the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices and the Municipal Tourism Action Officers. Since then, the official brand name has continued to be featured by the municipality.

September 9, 2008 – Gold was officially identified and adopted as the One Town One Product (OTOP) of the municipality under the 6th Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 285, Series of 2008, based on the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Team. This followed the team’s inventory of all duly registered small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as established by Resolution No. 87-A, Series of 2008 on April 1, 2008.

November 22, 2011 – Dragonfly (Anisoptera) which is locally known in Ibaloi as “Shu Shuti” and in Kankanaey as “Lala-ungan” was adopted as the official symbol of the Municipality of Itogon through the 7th Sangguniang Bayan Resolution numbered 280, enacting Ordinance numbered 28, series of 2011. It is a symbol of courage, strength, happiness and joy. Their presence symbolizes harmony with each other and with the environment. Their traits are synonymous with the traits and character of the peaceful and joyful people of Itogon.

November 2021 – The 10th Sangguniang Bayan enacted Municipal Ordinances Nos. 69 and 71, series of 2021. The ordinances officially declared “Talal” (Long-Tailed Shrike) as the Municipal Bird of Itogon and correcting its scientific name from Lanius cristatus to Lanius schach. It also declared the Philippine Brown Deer (Ugsa/Ulsa), Asian Palm Civet (Motit), and Giant Cloud Rat (Bowet) as the municipality’s Fauna Flagship Species.
